01

Identity checklist

Confirm the maintainer, CurseForge project ID, edition, supported version, loader/import method, current file, license, and checked date. A title, logo, video thumbnail, or high search position is not project identity.

02

Expected file types

The tracked Java projects use JAR files and the Bedrock projects use MCADDON packages. An APK, executable installer, password-protected archive, renamed file, or browser-extension requirement is outside the verified paths.

03

Source and button check

Open the maintainer project page directly, distinguish its Install/Download control from advertising, and confirm the URL before leaving the browser. MMB Guide never places an ad that imitates a project download action.

04

Credential check

AI projects may require a provider key. Enter it only inside the documented local configuration. Never submit it to a guide, mirror, Discord bot, public server pack, screenshot, or support log. Revoke any exposed credential.

05

World and profile safety

Create a new Java profile or copied Bedrock world, preserve an offline backup, and test the project before adding unrelated mods. A clean baseline reduces both data-loss risk and false conflict conclusions.

06

What a platform listing does and does not prove

A maintained CurseForge page provides provenance, release history, relations, license context, and support continuity. It does not guarantee malware-free behavior, compatibility with every modpack, or zero account/provider cost.

07

Stop immediately when

The page claims to offer the secret original film mod, asks for an unrelated executable or APK, hides project identity, requires disabling security tools, requests an API key in the browser, or provides a file whose edition/loader does not match.

FAQ

Questions

Does MMB Guide scan Verity files?

No. It verifies project and release metadata and sends downloads to maintainer platforms; it does not claim a malware-analysis guarantee.

Is a CurseForge listing enough to prove compatibility?

No. Match the exact game version, loader, project release, dependencies, and environment.
